As Washington Post’s Peter Stevenson put it, “If there is one comparison you never make, it’s comparing someone to Hitler. It just isn’t done because almost no one in history was as bad as Hitler was.”
Or, so you’d think, but…
Seems a number of politicians, celebrities, newscasters, and college professors didn’t get the memo, continuing to liken President Trump to Hitler and spew anti-Semitic, anti-Israel rhetoric, much of it landing on college campuses.
As Brandeis University discovered after surveying 51 universities, these 10 made the list of those with “the highest level of antisemitic hostility,” in alphabetical order:
- Boston University
- Columbia University
- George Washington University
- New York University
- Ohio State University
- UC Berkeley
- UCLA
- University of Michigan
- University of Pennsylvania
- University of Wisconsin
The Brandeis report concluded that, “Antisemitism is through the roof on college campuses, much more prevalent than it was in 2016.”
Indeed, the Anti-Defamation League says some 2,637 anti-Israel activities took place on college campuses during the 2023-24 school year that included:
- Assaults
- Harassment
- Vandalism
- Protests
- Divestment resolutions
It’s so bad that…
- In February, S. Senators Mike Crapo, Tim Scott, and Jacky Rosen reintroduced the Antisemitism Awareness Act that would make the U.S. Department of Education use the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism when investigating antisemitic campus activities in deciding if they “cross the line from free speech into harassing, unlawful, or discriminatory conduct.”
- On March 31, U.S. Senators Katie Britt and Tim Scott joined several others in introducing the Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act to end federal funding to such institutions.
Draw your own conclusions.
Meanwhile, and thankfully… these 10 universities are among those with the LEAST antisemitic hostility, in alphabetical order:
- Brandeis University
- Duke University
- Penn State University
- Tulane University
- University of Central Florida
- University of Delaware
- University of Florida
- University of Miami
- Washington University (in St. Louis)
Knowing this helps a little: yes or no?
~ With thanks, Carol
Yes Carol this does help.
What the administrators of those schools has allowed is absolutely disgraceful.
President Trump doesn’t have 1 ounce of antisemitism in him
Doesn’t seem possible that this is how it is here nowadays, but where is the outraage?
