1) A Thomas B. Fordham Institute estimates that the total cost of implementing the Common Core standards will be between $3 billion and $12 billion depending on which approaches states use.

2) A Scholastic poll of more than 2,000 teachers finds that 75% of them think the Common Core standards will improve students’ ability to reason and to think critically. 8% say the new standards will have a negative impact on classrooms.

3) Less than 25% of Americans believe testing has helped public schools and many either don’t understand or have never heard of the Common Core standards. Plus, 58% oppose using tests to evaluate teachers.
