Will get back to school-wise news next time around, but for today am going with, “What the hell are they thinking?” and unsettling news, too.
As USA Today’s Morgan Hines, reported, “People came faster than a flock of seagulls chasing a French fry when idle Florida beaches began reopening on Friday.” (April 17)
At the same time, protesters started taking to the streets holding up such signs as “The ‘cure’ is deadlier than COVID!” and “End the lock down,” along with others demanding the firing of governors.
- News that in just four days, the 16th to the 20th, the U.S. death toll jumped from more than 26,000 to more than 40,000 people, while confirmed cases rose from some 600,000 to 742,000.
- Scientists from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health recently suggesting that “prolonged or intermittent social distancing may be necessary into 2022.”
- Peter Marks, director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administrations Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research warning that, “Until there’s a vaccine, it’s unfortunately NOT unlikely that we may see a second wave or even a third wave. I shudder to think of that, but I think we have to be realistic.”
What more do you need to know? Stay put.
With thanks and well wishes, Carol
