In his January 20 Inaugural Address, President Biden said, “We must end this civil war that pits red against blue, rural versus urban, conservative vs. liberal. We can do this if we open our souls instead of hardening our hearts, if we show a little tolerance and humility, and if we’re willing to stand in the other person’s shoes, as my mom would say.”
He promised to “restore the soul of the nation,” and we believed him…
*** During a National Voter Registration Day discussion on September 28 with Vice President Kamala Harris, a George Mason University student said, “I see that over the summer there have been protests and demonstrations in astronomical numbers standing with Palestine. But just a few days ago, there were funds allocated to continue backing Israel, which hurts my heart because it’s ethnic genocide and displacement of people, the same that happened in America, and I’m sure you’re aware of this.”
Saying she was “glad” the student had spoken up, VP Harris added, “Your voice, your perspective, your experience, your truth cannot be suppressed, and it must be heard… We still have healthy debates in our country about what is the right path, and nobody’s voice should be suppressed on that.”
Her senior staffers quickly went into damage control mode.
*** An Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) press release recently announced: “The American College of Pediatricians, the Catholic Medical Association, and an ob-gyn doctor who specializes in adolescent care filed a suit in federal court against the Biden administration’s mandate that doctors perform gender transition procedures on any patient, including a child, if the procedure violates their medical judgment or religious beliefs.”
Says ADF Senior Counsel Julie Marie Blake: “… To force doctors to engage in experimental medicine that poses a risk to patients—or face huge financial penalties, withdrawal of federal funding, or removal of their ability to practice medicine—is an extreme violation of doctors’ constitutional rights and certainly not in the best interest of the patients they serve.”
*** California’s Governor Gavin Newsom recently signed AB1184. According to his statement, the bill “will keep patient information confidential for patients [i.e., children] who are NOT the primary policyholder [parents] for their health insurance. Healthcare services that patients [children] can keep confidential include ‘reproductive healthcare and gender-affirming care.”
*** September’s Morning Consult poll found that, contrary to the Democrat narrative about voter suppression…
- 44% of adults believe the current voting laws “are not strict enough to prevent votes from being cast illegally.”
- 33% think the current voting laws “make it too difficult for eligible citizens to vote.”
- 54% of Democrats say the rules around voting are too strict, while 79% of Republicans say they aren’t tough enough.
- 35% of Independents say voting laws are not strict enough vs. 29% who say they are too difficult for eligible citizens to vote.
*** On September 11, Biden praised the Taliban as “businesslike and professional” and helping to get Americans and lawful permanent residents out of Afghanistan.” On September 25, they hung a dead man’s body from a crane in the middle of a street, while also saying to Christians, “We’re coming for you.”
The President has not addressed such events, but he had this message for our Border Patrol agents dealing with thousands of immigrants pouring our way: “I promise you, these people will pay. There is an investigation underway right now, and there will be consequences.”
*** Former Obama Secretary of Education Arne Duncan recently tweeted: “Have you noticed how strikingly similar both the mindsets and actions are between suicide bombers at Kabul’s airport and the anti-mask and anti-vax people here? They both blow themselves up, inflict harm on those around them, and are convinced they are fighting for freedom.”
*** Then there’s Scientific American’s “Why the Term JEDI Is Problematic for Describing Programs that Promote Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.” Its five authors say, “The Jedi are inappropriate mascots for social justice,” then added that, “The space knights are emblems for a host of dangerously reactionary values and assumptions.”
As they explained: “The Jedi are a religious order of intergalactic police-monks, prone to (white) saviorism and toxically masculine approaches to conflict resolution (violent duels with phallic light sabers, gaslighting by means of Jedi mind tricks…”
I’m speechless… ~ Carol
